I have seen vinyl windows with a little vent built into the frame, say about 3″ wide. Are these options on only certain companies? I have google scads of sites and can’t find these as options, but I seem them in lots of homes. Any ideas for a source?

Got me curious about those vents now. :o)
I found them at Milgard. They just call them a passive air vent. On the standard line, the vent is in the header of the window frame. On the Styleline, a thinner profile, they go in the movable frame. In a mild climate with tight home, they allow for some outside air to come in if you don't have an HRV."Democracy is when the people know exactly what they want, and get it good and hard." HL Mencken
