Total frustration here – the first voice/fax software I purchased was made by a company that was already bankrupt. About a year ago I purchased ‘Talk Works Pro 3’ by Symantec – an extremely reliable company. It sat for awhile and, as I went to install a new modem and TalkWorks I find that Symantec discontinued it the same year they brought it out and as a result (now unsupported) you cannot get any reliable modem compatibility information. The modems listed on Symantec’s website are obsolete. So …
I am willing to start over – is there anyone making a decent software-based voice/fax software for business who still plans to make it a year from now? Has to be compatible with Windows NT but otherwise anything goes. For a small firm.
Any experience out there? TIA

Joe's cheat sheet
I have FaxTalkCommunicator, which is easy to use, integrates well with Win9, and is not overloaded with worthless bells and whistles. It used to do everything I wanted it to.
And then there was a problem and I discovered they quit supporting my version a couple of months before. Now I can send a fax, both from the scanner and from the drive, but not receive and i have no idea what to do about it.
Still, it's not a bad product and the fact that I'm a bit p.o.'d with their policy doesn't change that.
