Volunteer to restore historic railroad coaches
The Northwest Railway Museum is currently seeking volunteers to help restore two over 100 year old passenger coaches. We are located in Snoqualmie, Washington about 30 minutes east of Seattle on I-90. We are looking for volunteers of all skill levels. We have a new Conservation and Restoration Center that opened a couple of years ago and we are opening our new Train Shed Exhibition Hall in September. The cars currently being restored are of wood and steel construction. There is fine woodworking that needs to be done, but there are also projects of various levels. On the job training can be provided. If you are interested at all please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]. The cars were made out of a variety of woods within one car including ash, oak, fir, mahogany, poplar, etc. For more information about the museum, you can check our webpage www.trainmuseum.org. Thank you for your time.
