How do you specify/change wall height in 3D Home Architect? I’m using version 3.0 Deluxe.
There’s nothing in the help files or printed docs. Although 3DHA is made by Broderbund, they were purchased by Mattel Interactive, and neither company offers much tech support.
There is a 3DHA users page at http://www.totalhomenetwork.com/3dha/users.html, but nothing there addresses this question.
Thanks,
Pete

Highlite the room as a whole then doubleclick on the room.
and there is the option for ceiling hight.
*Nigel,That's it -- thanks. Can you specify the height of an individual wall?Pete
*Not from what I've seen. The closest you can get is to change the height of the room adjacent to the room in which you want the taller wall, but I can't see where that would help anything. It's a great off-the-shelf, cheap program, but forget about some details. You probably saw where you could change the default ceiling height, right?
*pshriner, 3D is a usefull program but can be maddening at times. I struggled mightily with it trying to adjust wall heights. ONe technique I used was to create a "room" with hidden walls that defined a false room. It's barbaric.I needed a different program to accomplish some of the things I needed to do to desighn my Huron house. In retrospect, it would have been faster and easier to hand draw it, but I wouldn't have had the ability to view the beast in 3d and tweak the proportions. After I was done, I couldn't rely on any of the drawings to actually build the house. There was no way I could have turned the plans over to anyone and let them build it. There were too many inconsistencies in the final drawings.blue
*Yes. I've used that program and had similar results. It was given to me so I can't complain. But I still do! It made me realize how useful a real program would be. But look at the prices! I was checking out Chief Architect by Berryvale. It looks like a good one. Maybe when I get rich....
*.. i am just guessing that you clik on a ""room"which opens a dialog box.. you set the wall ht. of the room there..the room can be the whole house...at least that's how Chief Arch does it..3-d may be the sameprocedure...
*Mike, that's basically how you adjust the room height. But that does weird things to the upstair. It's probably no problem other than I just havn't invested enough time in the written instructios.blue
