I believe I would like a wall mounted faucet for my pedestal tub and was wondering if this is a wise choice. The plumber hasn’t given me a yay or nay on it. Is this a difficult thing to do? Are there any problems associated with these types of faucets?
Thanks.

what do you mean by a pedistal tub? Do you mean sink or claw foot tub?

It's a free standing tub like a claw foot but has a base around it.
sounds cool. make sure to put it in a warm wall (interior) we did an install and built a box out sorta deal with a ledge above it because the tub is on an exterior wall, allowing the pipes to exist in a warm environment. Good place for soaps and candles etc.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is on an inside wall. I am after a cleaner look so I didn't want the plumbing coming up through the floor. Just wondered if there are any problems associated with the wall mounts.
That particular bathroom, has two wall mounted faucets with no problems in 5 years. We used sound insulation around the pipes to dampen the rushing water sound between the bathroom and bedroom. Good luck.
The tyipical tub install is wall mount. The tub spout just need to be long enough to reach.
But
You lose some of the "charm" of the footed tub by coming out of the wall.
counter but
If you want it coming out of the wall go for it. No reason it can't be done.
