Hey all – Starting to put together a small kitchen for my brother and sister-in-law (design and construction) and we are likely going to have a peninsula where we want some seating. Because the seating will be along a traffic path, I don’t want to worry about the stools being pushed in all the time. The path is tight already and loose furniture will just make it worse.
I know I’ve seen an add (I think in FHB) for a company that made wall-mounted swivel stools… the kind that spring back against the counter when not in use. Anyone have a source for this type of seating handy? Even a lot of google time has only turned up typical legged or post-mounted bar stools, etc. Maybe my terminology is off.
Thanks

I thought this was about a new throne for the bathroom. Swivel terlets.
Now that would REALLY save some space!
I have a bench seat that swivels or more correctly swings off of a verticle plane, it can fold along the same plane...geeze.. I need to get a pic of it for you. It is an antique type thing, no makers mark or ID at all.
But I throw this out to you as an option that you may consider. Picture in your mind, a hinge, and one leaf has an arm with a plate drilled for bolts to attach the seat. While the other leaf is affixed to the wall or a post.

Is this what you need?

New knowledge is priceless.
Used knowledge is even more valuable.
That's the type of thing I'm talking about - now I'll just have to work on the right style I guess. Thanks
about a year ago FHB had a whole article on bar seats.
Try a restaurant supply house? It's that type of an item...buic
Most of the sites I've seen are commercial/restaurant supply type places, usually only standard stools. My wife says they have 'em at the local bowling alley - maybe I'll just have to go look for a manufacturer's nameplate to try to narrow the search a bit. Thanks for the input.
I have one of those things in my basement. It came from a school laboratory. It swings out, and has a spring to pull it back under the table.
The stool itself has a spring-loaded column that goes to the floor when you sit on it. That helps keep it from moving around.
