   Cool house!

   I see the anual taxes are $73,000 so making the approx $6000 a month in taxes will prevent me from making an offer on the place!

   It is a cool place though. What did you do on the place?

   When you keep in mind that the $73K taxes are based on 'farmland' assessment it's even more amazing.

   We added 7,000 SF and restored the main portion of the house (built 1773);  brought HVAC/Plumbing/Electric up to date;   Cottage renovation, barn renovation/preservation etc. ad infinitum.   Some of the added SF were underground, cutting about 3' into dense argillite shale stone - slow going.

   I'm GLAD to hear that, esp in light of the disccussion on lighting coffered ceilings!

   ;)

   But there were some other poor lighting choices in there too.

   'course, that is one of the easier things to change in a house soon as I can scrape up the down payment...
   Did they comefrom the display at HD?

   I really liked the rest of the work though. Tasteful and sedate
