harbor freight, laugh all u want, I bought same one on ebay abouy $20.00!!!!!!!!!!! works fine
Interesting. Just searched their on-line site, and found one for $27. Considering how much use I have planned, I think I'll try one."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson

Please report back how you like it. I've been thinking about getting one also, but like you, I only have a very occasional need so a $27 pinner might be fine for me also.
DO NOT buy a nail gun from that store. Every single air tool that I have ever bought from them didn't last longer than a few months. Most electric tools that I bought from them didn't last longer than a few weeks on the job. I make my living with tools and was seduced by the low prices. If you've got one job that requires that pinner and you don't think you'll ever use it again? Then buy it. Otherwise, save your money. I think Porter Cable makes one at a decent price, and it will last as long as you don't kick it around.
I've seen several pinners (including the PC) for around $100...with the exception of the Max, which is more than twice that.
I think you must be the exception. While a lot of their stuff is pretty much junk a good many folks appear to be pleased with some of it for occasional useage, not day-in-day-out/crew use, etc. The 23ga pinner looks like a fair little tool. I has a little slide indicator for the size pins in it.
Not sure I would plan on framing a house with their framing nailer but some of the little guns look very cost effective. Their pins are really inexpensive. I have had some of the longer ones go astray, but have had name brand ones follow grain too.
I have and use the Bostitch, had I seen the HF I would have tried it. Considered getting it to leave in shop so would not have to get the other one out of the van.
By the way, welcome and fill out your profile (:-)

Ok, let me get this straight. You don't own a Harbor Freight pin nailer, but are trying to convince me why I should like them? Let me level with you.....I don't own a Harbor Freight pin nailer either. But I have bought a compressor, brad nailer, stapler, framing nailer, impact wrench, roofing nailer, drywall gun, speed square, right angle drill, tool belt, and clamps....all within about the last year and a half. Of those tools, the roofing nailer and the clamps are the only tools that I have left from them. The rest I either sold or broke (most of them broke within a month of use, no bull). The roofing nailer still works, but I have already ordered a replacement from DeWalt because I'm not going to wait until my house (or worse, a customer's house) is in peices to see if I finally got a good tool from them. So, go ahead. Buy that pin nailer you want so bad.
I think you need to reread and take a chill pill. By the way I was not trying to convince you to buy a da** thing. Just pointing out that a lot of people here who have been here a lot longer and explained a lot better had different experiences.

Not to get into a row over this but, how long did it take to realize that you were getting #### tools from them and shouldn't buy anymore or were they purchased all at once?
Do they have any sort of warranty? I have seen their catalog many times and actually thought about ordering but was scared about the quality. I actually stopped in a store in PA and got to handle the tools. Every tool I picked up I put right back down. To me garbage tools are not worth it even if they are free - too much stress already without adding malfunctioning tools to the mix.
Back to the warranty - if you paid with a credit card you might get some sort of refund since it seems like the tools did not last long enough to be out of warranty.
I bought the air tools at the same time. The compressor did last about six months. I sold the framing nailer due to lack of power. I may of had it about two months. The brad nailer was weak from the get go. It started jamming quite a bit so I sold it to a pawn shop for not even half what I paid for it. I've started buying factory reconditioned tools over the internet. Most brands come with a great warranty (Harbor Freight wanted to see my reciept), and so far, I have been quite pleased with what has been sent to me from the recon sites. I was building decks and screened porches on the side (my boss can't seem to find any work lately), and I've been a commercial electrician for three years(which really just makes me an apprentice). I dont have time for broken tools.

I have had the harbor freight pin nailer for a little over a year. It doesn't get constant use, maybe a thousand pins. It has been flawless. If I was using it daily I might have got a different one. It was worth every bit of the 19 dollars I paid for it. There pins are cheap too.
I have an Accuset micro pinner that I would be willing to sell for $40 + shipping. E-mail me if interested: chrisgrohs at mac.com
Chris, sent an email. I'll take it."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson

HiSorry for the delay, I've not been at the computer much the past week. My shop helper bouht a few of the smaller tool which I do not think includes the pinner. Let me have a look when I get to my shop today and verify. Again sorry for the delay in responding to your posts/e-mails....busy time for us right now.Regards,
Chris

I broke down and bought a Harbor Freight pinner, and I have to say I am, if not impressed, at least happy with the tool. It is solidly built, I'm not sure there is any plastic parts, which is more than I can say for my Bostich tools. And it weighs more than my Bostich 18 ga. Fit and finish is surprisingly good. I shot about 30 pins just for practice, and it works well. I'm sure that it will do very nicely considering the amount of use I anticipate."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson

Another vote for the Horrible Fright pinner. I've put about a thousand pins through mine (pine and poplar), and it has worked FLAWLESSLY. Not a long term report by any means, and maybe I just got lucky, and if I were using one constantly I would have spent more up front and not taken the risk of losing $18 (on sale), and yada yada, but I'm more than happy with it.
I kinda figured for occaisional/back-up use it would be hard to go wrong for less than the price of a bottle of mediocre whiskey. I keep my receipts for tax purposes so it is not a problem for any warranty during the period. They offer an extended warranty but usually not worth the extra$.
Just be careful to whom you suggest to buy. Fast Eddie scored an Accuset from one of the brethern here. So I guess the case is closed.
I "dropped a few hints", and lo and behold......got a PC pinner for Christmas from my son in law.
Can't beat the price!............great kid.
This year......
