Hi all,
I’m looking to buy a cheap open single-axle 12′ trailer…mostly for hauling 12′ rough-cut lumber.
I’m in Dallas, TX.

Hey Kessler,
I live in Austin, but I have two suggestions.
1. Craigslist for dallas. I find alot of stuff that way
2. Renco Supply in Pflugerville. I just purchased a new 16' tandem axle 3500lb capacity from them for $1025. It was almost half the price of Magnum or Stone with new tires. (512) 251-2421.
Good Luck
Bruce
That price included tires? Excellent!
Yes, completely new trailer with new tires.
I was shocked when I pulled into the place. My secretary found the trailer on Craigslist and I thought is was used. I pull in and there are rows of new trailers.
Nice folks.
You can typically get a 16' tandem with used tires (no brakes) for about $800 in KY.

About three weeks ago I decided we needed to get one. We found that the ads in the paper were sold before the ad hit the paper. The ads on Craigslist were sold by 9 am the following day they were posted. Most around $1000 for used trailer, used tires and no brakes. I could not believe the price of the that new one.
Now I just need a big ole truck that will let me get a 3500 # load on the trailer. My Toyota pickup does well upto about 1500# but gets very unhappy much after that. Just new to convince DW that this a necessary purchase.
My Toyota's like that. It's comfortable with 1500 in the bed, but 2000 is real scary.
Lucky, I only had to go 1/2 mile.SamT
Here's a great way to make that load a little less scary (makes an amazing difference empty as well). I put them on my Toyota (barely) half-ton and have comfortably hauled 1700#'s.
