ya - I was kinda thinking of you - but figured you had probably lost your stash in the fire -
back 25+ years ago (before kids) V and I were traveling michigan in the convertible and stopped in a shop that had a near complete set of hollows and rounds with a $200 price on it - it was a bastard set, but there were a bunch of planes in generally real good condition - this is not the first time I regretted passing on that deal -

yeah, a bunch of old friends got cooked in the fire. I was rooting around what I have ( funny timing, I am amidst a new clients run of period mouldings out of cypress) and the one that I DO have nearest that size, is just that, ONE. I'll even be using it in the up coming days.
So, thats that, I can't part with it.
How soon ya need it? I can whip one out in fairly short order. If yer in a big hurry, it may be a bit crude finish wise, but serviceable in use. I'll just copy what I have here, and I am certain I have file or spring steel for an iron.
A 5/8ths can do what a 3/4 can, but not versy vicey..LOL You knew that tho'.
just lemme know, I'm in the shop all day, and checking in here when I need to hit the AC and cooloff. Heat index is already almost 100..and getting hotter.
Edit: Oh, I REALLY am here all day, they closed my road for repaveing..about time.

ah, the guilt free shop day - kinda like the blizzards...
I just posted over at knots - and let's let this ride for a day or so -
I hate to admit it, but I need it to take the ridges out of a floor that I spaced too tightly - it swelled and now when you try to slide anything over it the object gets caught on the ridges - hate it when that happens - just about ready to tear it up and start over...

10-4.
You just need a scrub plane grind on a #4 plane. Just to level off the peaks.
ya, but I don't really want to work with that wide a plane in this case - and I don't have an extra #4 - I gave my second to a bud - gonna tack down a shooting board and rip right down the turned up groove - I have a narrow (3/8") round in my misc plane accumulation, but it's just too narrow -
I've been mostly working in the refrigerated shop today - much better than outside - getting materials/shifting irragation has been a sweat inducer this afternoon -

Make one of these for your power plane. The opening down the middle should be wider than the ridges. The overall width is smaller than two floor boards. The sketch isn't clear, the Bridges sit on top of the 1/8" flat stock.

Gotcha..
I spent the day making window muntins or mullions or whatever they're called..suprised myself, they came out OK. LOL.
Heck, take a fat ( true 1") 1x6 0r so..about a foot long..band saw it into thirds ( drill 1/4" holes in what will be the waste areas of a body of your choosing) and take the center third and just front of middle cut a 45 for the bed angle, and a steeper for the clearance throat.
Save the triangle for the wedge. reasseble using the dowel holes to align the parts and clamp it up with glue.
Drill another hole for the wedge to bear on thru the whole works and cut off a 1/4'' dowel or drill bit for the cross pin. Below that, waller out a chip acess and iron room. The chips will exit both sides ( or curls) The wedge is the chip breaker.
Grind the file or steel like a spoon with the handle straight, fit the wedge to your likeing, and radius the sole and iron ...theres your plane.
Bandsaw away the locating dowels from the glue up, and sand it all nice and comfy.

When we're old, make some time to hang out with me in the shop. You was born in the wrong century boy.
When we're old...LOL
I just like making stuff. Homemade tools are just addictive.
"I just like making stuff."I know you do. I do too. I like old tools for some reason. I've been on a chisel kick lately.
Ahhh. Wooden planes -- now you're talkin'!
If you can't find an old one, you might opt for a new one. Knight toolworks is run by a great guy who makes really nice users for decent prices:

I had him make a custom plane for me several years ago for some chair backs, and it was a gem.
