I’m looking for a job as an entry level carpenter. I’m 26 years old, live in Methuen Massachusetts and willing to travel within reason just to get my foot in the door of any size carpentry firm that provides a healthy working environment.
I’m working my way through college (it’s taking forever) and I’ve got 2.5 years toward my bachelors degree in civil engineering. I’ve had co-op jobs as a concrte inspector and geotechnical tech and I love to work with my hands. This summer I had a job working as carpenter doing mostly crappy repair work for this condo association fixing siding, some decks and a whole slew of other really weird projects; more handyman stuff than carpentry. Oh yeah, my boss came back from lunch drunk one day and said a whole lot of inappropriate and scary stuff so I left that day and haven’t really pursued any other carpentry jobs since I don’t want to work in that sort of environment.
Since picking up my first issue of FHb and recently taking a trip up coastal NH & ME and seeing all the fine homes up there I’ve got the carpentry bug.
So if anyone out there knows a respectable/classy company that needs good help please refer me.
Just a wee bit more about me:
I have a positive attitude, learn super fast, am incredibly patient and conscientous, and work well independently as well as with others.
