Guys down the road (at the airport) just installed a Revolution (rite-hite) fan which is a BA fan competitor. They bought a 16 ft fan and it was around $6k without installation. These fans are variable speed and have the ability to move a good amount of air without a lot of noise. There a airport hangars within 30 miles that have various sizes of both the Revolution and BA fan. The local guys looked an both and settled on the Revolution - not sure why - I can ask.
You might check with the local sales rep and see if they could give you a couple of local people who have an install you could check out.

Wal-Mart usually has them installed in the indoor/outdoor gardening section.

Holy cow! I need one of those for my living room!
Very good products. They are out of Lexington Kentucky.
There are two of those puppies in the gym where I go. Have no idea what they cost, other than it's probably more than a Lasko table fan. But they are quiet (at least you can't hear them above the Muzak in the gym) and they do stir up a breeze. Seem to be well-designed and well-built.
