I recently built a new exterior door for a two hundred year old house to match existing doors. The exterior of the door is vertical random width tongue and groove one-by common white pine. The interior of the door is diagonal (45 degree) ship-lapped 1×8’s. The two layers of the door are screwed and epoxied together with West System epoxy. The door stayed flat for about two weeks after being installed, then the top latch side corner kicked out about 1-1/4″. I’m considering building another door but using select white pine and no epoxy, only screws to attach the two layers together. Any comments or ideas?
