Not sure if allowed, just in need of advice.
I hired a framer to add on to existing house in order to do the add on he had to tear into the existing roof. I spoke to him about the roof being open and and we expected rain he informed me that It would be temporary sealed to where it would not get water into my house but unfortunately it did. It happen a couple times since we had rain couple days during that week. He did the hiring of the roofer to complete what he had removed. After Sheetrock collapsed inside the home and insulation had water damaged, he told me that he would only fix the Sheetrock and that it was the roofers fault and not his. Now I have a $3,000 bill to fix all the Sheetrock that was damaged. Who is at fault for this framer or roofer? Both point the finger at each other. Even though I strictly did business with the framer.

Is the framer a contractor with a license and insurance? Do you have a written agreement with him? Did he pay the roofer or did you? Did you or he get a permit?
I'd say it was his responsibility but I'd guess you'll end up paying.
How annoying it is when so-called specialists do not consider all the unforeseen and unpleasant events that could happen during the repair works of a house and especially of the roof, which is essential
