A “mason” is pouring a 5″ slab over sand, sheet plastic, 2″ rigid insulation, wire and PEX tubing. This is for a 2 car garage on a house we are working on. Won’t there be a problem with the water coming to the surface, and/or should a water reducer be used? Thanks, J landi

Your mix needn't be quite as wet, but there is no problem pouring over plastic. In fact, it's better, bec you won't lose your water prematurely into the sand/gravel at the bottom of the slab. A plasticizer (water reducer) will add workability and make it flow better around the mesh and tube, however.
