I am seeking some guidance on how to resolve a current situation I am having at my house. About 3 years ago I had a company install a sump pump system in my basement to prevent any possible leakage or flooding. As it turns out, where they placed the sump pump under my basement slab, is a constant a stream of water. So the pump goes off like almost every 15 minutes pushing water from under the slab, away from the house. Interestingly, this was not the original problem they installed the pump to fix. I am trying to figure out if there is another way for me to move this water away from under the house without the use of the sump pump?
Because, it goes off constantly and it does at least 4 or 5 cycles of pushing this water before it stops. We are not at the bottom of a hill or anything, there is a pond of water to the back of us a good 15, 20 feet or even more, away.
I am not even sure if this pushing the water away was necessary since the house was built in late 90;s and none of the previous owners had a sump pump pushing this water away. Any ideas?
