A client has a room under the front concrete stairs and entrance to the house, this 8’x8′ cold room has water/moisture entering via the concrete roof. The concrete is covered with a 1″ irregular flag stone that will be removed. ANy proven methods to waterproof with some type of membrane, then install a natural stone or concrete finish. |

we have 'em here, called cold cellars, no one really knows how, or if they should be insulated/vented. Because of this they are freq unheated and over the years the frost takes it's toll. If it's been covered with slate it was probably to hide a crack or two, the only way to fix that is demo and pour a new step.
