Does anyone know of a decking material that is good for a deck over a waterproof area? I’m replacing a tongue-and-groove, 1920’s vintage fir porch. I could replace it with fir but was thinking about a composite. Any suggestions? Thanks.

To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

If its covered look at Tendura. Its not inexpensive but looks authentic.
Ipe - Very dense Brazillan wood. Similar in price to composite. Real Wood that will last for at least 50 years.

Are you sure you don't mean a waterproof decking material over an area?? I did two decks on my house of Grailcoat, and I'm real happy with them. Waterproof and bulletproof. http://www.grailcoat.com
