This last week I poured a structural concrete deck. It is over living space in the basement so needs to be waterproofed. It will eventually be a covered screen porch so it won’t see much water, but will get some when it really blows around. After waterproofing, I will be pouring a topping slab or laying flagstone over the whole thing. So it doesn’t seem like a highly critical application, but I also don’t want to be tearing up my porch a few years down the line.
A local roofing guy is suggesting a product called Ruberoid. He says it is about 1/2 the cost of EPDM and since UV rays is what kills roofing, he anticipates many, many years of good service in a covered application.
I’m pretty well sold on the idea but thought I would check in here to for input before going ahead.
Thanks MERC

Normally, a ply of waterproofing would go down before the concrete but since you are at this point and still have a tile job going down, maybe you can get by with some peel and stick material like ice and water. Maybe this Rubberoid brand name is such a one.
Polyglass is another that is made for low slope roofing and has granules that could help with traffic in the meantime
Excellence is its own reward!
ruberoid is Gaf's (read manufactor)name for torch down which is applied with a open flame it has been my experance that most times the field application is alright but when it comes to details such as tieing into or flashing walls of a wood structure the use of open flame does not allow for proper installation
EDPM may agood installation but I would suggest the use of a reinforced membrane, or you might ask for a TPO product which is a marriage of EDPM and theromplastics that is seamed and detailed with hot air.
