I’m currently building and two story addition. The second story is eight feet shorter than the first story, the remaining eight feet will be a porch. Since this porch will be overtop the first story living space , I am looking for recommendations on waterproofing the second story porch. The roof trusses will over hang the porch

Good info here.
Assume the rain will blast in and pay attention to the details.
Good luck with this. Up front, it's a terrible idea. I've worked on several dozen roof/porch combos like you're describing and they all leak. Sooner or later but all of them leak. Most of the time they leak through the back wall and by the time you discover the leak your wall is compromised. If you just can't resist then at least overkill the roof-to-wall flashing and any window flashing on the wall. The best luck I've had with roof coatings is with polyurethane deck coatings but follow the manufactures instructions carefully and constantly inspect it. Plan on recoating every 4 or 5 years.
