Here is this year’s lower elementary project for the silent auction at the big school fundraiser – a mirror I designed, with a frame made from 34 figures. There are 34 kids and teachers in the class; they’ll all pick and paint there own self Monday, and I’ll assemble it mid-week – should be cool. Figures are 1/2″ MDF cut with a 1/4″ bandsaw blade; whole thing’s about 40″ diameter.
There are figures skirts combined with short hair, skirts with long hair, pants with short hair, and pants with long hair – plus, either side can be used, for a total of eight configurations. I was planning to make them just in the four sets, but by midnight last night with the bandsaw, some of the gals were throwing a hip out and getting some calf definition!
Forrest – workin’ on the small stuff now
pps – anybody seen my wife?

Neat! I hope some kids find imaginative ways to incorporate the grain pattern, and not just paint over the wood.
The wife is talking to her friend about these stick figures getting bresses, calf definition was going far enough.
Wife said she "was" married to you. I see the ring in the "Mike Smith" reincarnation...

Took me a minute to figure out - the woodgrain images are CAD models.

last time i seen her she was staggering out of the tavern:)
You might want to adjust your shapes.
I don't think grabbing another student's crotch is allowed in elementary school.
Seem safe?
Gonna' put the 2' diameter mirror on tonight; cool collage of the kids' actual pix on the backside, which is painted as well.

way cool!!!
Hey. Forrest-
how far are you from Highland Hardware? They've got one of my favorite catalogs, and seem to have some interesting woodworking classes.
About 30 minutes - cool place that I hardly ever get to. Have a friend that works there occasionally, teaching some classes. Occasionally I can get tools for good $.

Nice job!
Your a Good Man!
We just got the call . . . $650 was the final bid. Hurray, the little children will have books next year.
