western red cedar checks to fill or not?

I have a D profile WRC log home and i am in the process of removing all the polyeurathane filler in the checks,to be refilled with sashco conceal, I see lots of people dont fill checks less than 1/4 inch, but I think maybe thats a bit too big, I am thinking not to fill any checks that are say less than 1/8 inch, damp climate here in Ireland,  so any thoughts people?
