Western Tool took over the Post Tool stores we have here (San Francisco). Prices aren't too high. I used to get router bits, staples, glue etc. there because it was within walking distance to my shop and I liked the convenience of a close supplier. Since I moved my shop I haven't been there. Overall, a decent place for supplies and the occasional power tool.

They've got about a dozen stores in Oregon and more in California, Washington, and Idaho. I guess they also have some on the East Coast. I have been in their stores but haven't purchased much. This was several years ago and the prices seemed higher than some of the other tool stores. The store seemed pretty plain and certainly didn't excite me enough to go back.

Walked into one yesterday, they were still stocking shelves and nothing had a price sticker on it. They were big on Senco and PC nailers, but no other brands. Only nails for the guns were Senco. Also big on Dewalt, nothing much in blue, either Mak or Bosch. Maybe they were still in boxes.
Picked up their flier, the tools and prices were identical (almost) to WWW (RIP.) Pretty cool, though, the only one in Conn is 20 minutes from my door.
Thanks guys for the replys so fast, this is a great place to find things out.
Like I said , I didnt go imside as they were closed so didnt get a look at prices, but I could see they had many tools and brands. about 10 millwalkee tools hanging on walls, 6 to seven bosch , lots of Porter cable and DeWalt and large amount of floor model tablesaws bandsaws ,like Jet and others as well.
And about 100 defferent router bits and thats what I was going to miss the most with WWH .

.........CALL THEM, because not everything posted on website, but they got it
Well they Western Tools (which is a corporation), bought out Abbey Tools( which was family owned) near my house. Abbeys used to be my number one supplier even if they were higher priced just because of their service. Now I wont darken their doors ever again.
A example (the one that broke the camels back). I went there with Slim Shadey to buy Deltas 3hp shaper. We walked in no customers in the store ( thats usual since western bought them). We talked to a salesman told him we wanted the shaper, it cost approx,1700 bucks. So he loaded it on a forklift. Shadey measured the box, then went and measured the clearance in his truck as he has a camper shell on it. Hmmm not enough clearance, So Shadey asked the salesman how high is the shaper outta the box, he didnt know. So we asked him if he would open the box so we could measure. Nope He said because if it got damaged in shipment( the drive to shadeys house) then they would have to replace it. They wouldnt load it outta the box also if it didnt fit then they would be stuck with a shaper inna a open box and they couldnt sell it like that. We asked them if they would deliever it. Nope the salesman said they dont do that. So needless to say we didnt buy the shaper.
So then Shadey wanted to buy a Mak 12v impact. We go to the counter to pay for it and I ask the counter monkey if he would throw in a square drive bit (all of about a buck) He said no. I asked him well how about a bag of square drive bits he said No (all of about 2 bucks). He (counter monkey) said thats how they make their money on the accessories.
So we left the store. We drove to Battels hardware a family owned place asked them about the delta shaper. He said sure he had one in stock . No real sales pitch acted just like a regular guy not polished at all. Asked them ( the owner who is the founders son) if they would deliever it they said when will you be home (for free BTW). We said after 2 pm. he said no problem. At 2 pm truck arrived with forklift in tow unloaded shaper asked where we wanted it put it right where we wanted, they took it outta the box for us. As they left they said If we need any help setting it up let them know and they'll give us a hand, which we didnt need. they are also a Delta PC service center and I have them do some work for me and they got it done fast (Inna couple of days or less)
Now where do you think I go for my tools ect anymore????
I also problems with Western Tools ordering stuff on the phone. One time they hung up on me when I was asking them about some Bessey K body clamps and I wasnt even my normal grouchy self.
Bottom line, I will never darken their doorway again. BTW They are about 5 minutes from my house, Battels is about 30-40 minutes. I'd still go to Battels, Lowes ,, HD ( and ya all know how much I like Blowes and Home dildo) anywhere else before I go to Western Tools. I drive by their store every now and then and see maybe one or 2 trucks in front. Thats it. I think others have had the same experiance as I did.
