Looking for info on wet rot. Tore off a deck w/ out flashing and had several isolated areas of wet rot. Limited to bottom of studs and plate but rim is sound. Thinking of drying it out and leaving it. Enough structure is sound as to not be aconcern as is. My ? is if it stays dry will it propagate or stay as is. Also, i’m new to the northwest and this is the 3rd house I’ve seen w/ siding directly over studs, no sheathing. Common? Shoddy? thanx

If is a big IF, but yes, if it stays dry, the rot will go dormant.

May not be that hard to fix.
It's a good idea to give the area some sort of rot-preventive treatment.
In older homes it's not at all unusual to see siding directly over the studs.
