Hello:
What are these ‘chisels’ for? Two are five inches long and two are 4 inches long. The longer ones have flat and concaved sharpened blades of one inch and the shorter ones’
blades are the same but 1/2 inch. Are they hand chisels for carving?

Not for any kind of wood carving I don't think. Maybe for lettering stones.
They appear to me to be "gouges" for use with a wood lathe. Intended to be mounted in a holder that runs on a rail parallel to the workpiece.
