What type of sealer is used on a slate kitchen countertop? The countertop is made of several pieces of slate that will be grouted. Thanks for your help!

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

I LOVE this companies products. They're pretty expensive but I found some of the products worth their weight in gold so....YOu can order directly on line if your suppliers don't carry what you want from them. thats what I do...thats the easiest in the long run I found. They also give great phone... Thats even free : )

I just talked with a cabinet maker the other day who said he had a good experience with Aquamix. What do you like about it?Do you like Aqua mix for their customer service/support or does it seem to seal porous stones that other sealers were not capable of effectively sealing?I fabricated some countertops recently with Kashmir Exotica that is extremely porous and am resorting to multiple applications of solvent based sealers 24 hours apart.I am still not sure this stone can be effectively sealed. I feel like I need to learn about the way the sealers polymers work before I can really judge ones effectiveness vs anothers.Apparently different sealers use different "size" polymers depending on the porosity of the stone being sealed.Karl
I'm no scientist but the products I've used from them seem beyond the quality of ANY other companies I've ever used. Pretty innovative products as well that got me out of more then one bind. Give them a call and speak to them. They can tell you a lot more then I can regarding their specs. My guess is they're a lot more expensive for some reason. You also can't find their products just anywhere apparently.
I fabricated a few soapstone counters (see my web site below for a few pic). One nice thing about it is how dense it is. I love soapstone.
I also did a few slate floors so I know what thats like if it's not sealed. Can get pretty ugly pretty eaily.
