Here are some pictures of an exterior door I repaired.
It was so rotted it had mushrooms growing on it.
The green/burgandy side is the exterior, the white side is the interior, the repaired picture is of the interior side and then the battery died in the camera.

Fungus amoungus?
African mahogany on the repair or Honduran? How did you join the new stiles to the old? Looks good--
African Mahogany The panels are a 3/8" thick applied to both sides of a 3/4" exterior plywood panel. The failed door's plywood panel was in a dado top bottom and sides which I think led to the ultimate failure since the bottom rail would trap & hold water. For the repair I ran the plywood from the mid rail to just shy of the bottom of the door. So the bottom rails are really 1/2" applied to the 3/4 ply. In theory there is no place to trap water the way I repaired it other than the glue joints. The 3/4 ply is attached to the mid rail and the repaired stiles with pocket hole screws thus holding everything together. I also put a #20 biscuit at the stile to stile butt joint, (which is what you really asked).

i would never have even thought about rebuilding it, did it have to match???? Good job
Yeah it had to match its brother. Here is a picture of the original (prior to the mushroom attack)from the builder's website I did the work for. This is the pool side of the garage.
