We broke out some concrete for the plumbers and they had a “strong back” place the concrete for us. They had half a bag left over and I notice it says “SPEC-MIX”. The word “grout” is on the bag too. I was looking for the “brag section”, but couldn’t find what makes it so special. Would somebody fill me in? Thanks

Spec-Mix is a manufacturer of cement products..They custom blend mortar, grout, etc to engineer/architect specs mostly for commercial applications..
Grout is high strength concrete that is used to fill voids in critical spaces where load transfer is necessary. For example, once a levelling plate is placed on a pile cap or foundation and levelled, the gap between the plate and the foundation is filled with grout..It provides a strong base that can handle the load of the column..
