I am going to buy some new nailers and I am not sure which to get. They will be used for framing and I would like it to be able to sink a 3-1/2″ nail into engineered lumber. What brand/model to all of you recommend?
I am considering the bostitch RH88 or the Porter Cable FR350A. Please let me know. Thanks.

I use Senco FramePro 650, had no problems with it. I think Senco stop making the 650 Series about 2 years ago. FramePro 751XP it is the same gun with extra fixtures; 752XP is Full round head model. I can't recommend Bostitch or PC cause I dont use them ;). Compare them to Senco!

For a full 16d nail ( 3 1/2" x .162", which is rarely used) go with the Makita. We tested stick nailers for JLC awhile back and the nailers that use that size nails, so shoot too well, but the Makita was the best.
For regular nails, go with the Hitachi NR83A2. Best gun hands down. Coil nailer is even better.
Ditto.
Just bought the Bostitch last month. It came with a removable end to nail joist hangers. Worked excellent so far. Worked all day with two Hitachi nailers but they need a special gun for joist hangers. I have the RH model which shoots full head nails the same as the Hitachi. When you look at the Bostitch the magazine will have oval holes along the bottom edge this one shoots full head nails the other one with the solid bottom shoots the wire/clipped head nails.
Really like my Hitachi. The only other framer I have used is a Paslode and the Hitachi is way better.

I have a Paslode framing nailer. I have been extremely pleased with it. However, the handiest feature is the rafter hook that has probably saved it from sliding off the roof countless times...

I think it's a regional thing, but I noticed the predominate framing gun here in Southern California is the Hitachi NR83A2. I also have the NR83AC2 which is a great plywood gun for the 10d commons and ring shanks, but not nearly as good for 16d sinkers.
