I think you either have something like saw dust build up or a small piece of wood jammed in the pivot (my Delta did that) or else it just needs "loosened" as some of them are on "spring lock nuts". Sorry not the exact term but I think you know what I mean.
If you do lube it, use that dry spray teflon, stuff works great!
