Building a 12 x 14 pergola. What size lumber (Cypress) should I be using? I was going to do 8 x 2 doubled up for the beams and 2 x 6 for the joist. Would that look ok or wimpy?

Here it is with 4x8 beams and 4x6 joists 24" oc, 2x4 plates for lattice at 12" oc. I usually use smaller dim for lattice though.

I also want to note with the large timbers there is so much flat surface holding water that they need to be stained and repeatedly or you will have rot issues.
