2nd Gen sounds more old-world. 15 yrs exp will be out of date next year...will you update your business cards?
Do it right, or do it twice.
2nd Generation
Maybe this is a simple matter that I'm making unduly complex. But . . .
We have all heard about the son of the successful [whatever] who was a good-for-nothing. So, "second generation" doesn't necessarily indicate anything one way or the other about the character of the person in question. It probably depends (doesn't it always?) on the experience and perceptions of the person hearing or reading the descriptive.
By the same token, years of experience indicate nothing whatsoever about the quality of said person's work. One example among many: I went to inspect a failing roof on a church with a slope of about 24/12. The shingles were falling off like leaves in autumn. Turns out the guy only nailed along the top of each shingle. Therefore, each shingle only had 4 nails in it instead of the required 8 (actually it should be 12 nails in a slope that great). When questioned, the roofer said he'd been nailing shingles that way for 35 years . . .
What's my point? Well, I guess I'm not sure what tag would be the most successful in promoting the right image. I'll bet classical conditioning works best: just pair your name with something people are sure to love such as beer, snow-covered mountains, or some sex object (choose your gender). It works for TV marketing.
I like to think I'm no longer a chip off the old block but a block head myself. I make and fix my own mistakes..... every mistake I fix my block just gets bigger and heavier. Sorry gotta go lie down ... head is almost on the keyboard.
