Well it’s time to buy another cordless drill (among other tools) and I won’t be buying another cheap brand. I’m gonna step up to “quality” this time. I also have to buy a cordless reciprocating saw as well as a cordless circular saw. I have no problem with Makita but their batteries are so expensive. So, I’m leaning towards Dewalt. I have a number of their tools alrady and love them. Their 18v XRP batteries are pretty reasonable in terms of cost.
Basically, I’m wondering if Dewalt is coimng out with a new type of battery soon. I seem to have heard somewhere that they are. Where I heard it I really don’t know. Have any of you heard any news on this?
Thanks kindly
Paul

I had a letter in the mail from Dewalt(some promo thing- spend $20 and get a t-shirt) 2 days ago and they were showing the new 18 Volt batteries. But no release date in the flyer or their website, only fall 2007.Martin
Just talked to the guy behind the counter at the Dw service center. He said the new batteries (18v Li on) are coming in Oct. He didnt mention if that was 07 or not but he did say october.
The nice thing is that these batteries fit all the old 18v tools.
Seeing is believing, I heard that song last year.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks
