Just moved into a home in North Carolina that has a pressure treated wooden deck that already has some weather on it. Wondering what kind of coating I should use. I know from my own experience in Ohio that opaque stain wasn’t the best choice there. Any help with type and/or brand would be appreciated.

Don't use any. PT just doesn't paint well nor doe the paint last long. The PT manufacturers recommend at least 3 months, and a year is better before you paint PT. Then you pressure clean and give it a few days to dry. A good coat of high-quality primer is next then 2 top coats of deck paint. Having done all that the paint will stary peeling in a year . The problem is the bottom and edges are unpainted which lets moisture get to the backside of the paint and all is lost. Spend the time and money replacing the PT with something that will last suck as Azek or Trex.
Hello,
Avoid using oil-based paint here; on pressure-treated wood, latex performs much better. It's worth mentioning that in outdoor applications where the finish will be subject to the elements, paint lasts longer on vertical surfaces like fences than it does on horizontal ones like decks.

We have a couple PT decks a bit north of you in VA. I do not like the way a pressure washer raises the grain (or removes wood between). I prefer a stiff scrub brush on a long handle and a bucket with a strong dose of oxy clean. (for prep) followed by a good garden hose rinse.
I previously used a transparent stain, but as the deck has aged, a semi-transparent stain seems like a better job. (and I find a dark color looks better at first and at hiding dirt)

This is what I used last time, any large home improvement or paint retailer will carry a similar product.
