Hey,
Today’s the last for the amazon discount. Wanting to finally pull the trigger upgrading my table saw.
A little confused between the Bosh 4000 and the 4000-7:

The 4000 is about $150 more but doesn’t have a stand, unlike the 4000-7. I’ve compared the specs on each model and can’t find the difference…gotta be missing something.
Thanks for any comments from those in the know.

I looked at the links, and I couldn't find any info on differences either.
You'd think if Amazon went to the trouble of writing a review, they would say something about they compare.
Have you checked the Bosch website to make sure they are in fact two different models of the same saw?
EDIT: I just looked at the Bosch website and saw no mention of different saws. Now that I think about it, hasn't Amazon opened its site to different suppliers selling the same tools for different prices? Maybe that explains the big price differential.

Nikki,Sorry I boogered the links.Well, you might be right about the vendor...the 4000 is noted as sold and shipped by Amazon, the -7 is shipped by "Uncle Joe's" IRRC. Still doesn't make sense for that big a difference.Interesting, I almost picked up the Bosch up at Sears the other day. It was a 4000-09 model with a pretty nifty looking wheeled stand. Think it was around $550, which would be less that the Amazon 4000 with a comparable stand included as an option.Confused and running out of time for the Amazon discount...if the -07 is an identical base saw it's absolutely a no-brainer.Todd
It's got a 50 hz 220 motor maybe???
Don't know if you're kidding or not but they both have the same, according to listed specs.Todd
the 4000 is the table saw
the 4000-07 is the TS with a folding stand..
the 4000-09 is the TS with a wheeled folding stand... hand truck style...
note the extensions..

Imerc,
Okay, that's what it appears to be...agreed. But if true, why would the 4000 (no stand) be listed at $581 and the 4000-07 (supposedly the same saw with stand) be listed at $429?The other weird thing is that the product specs say that the 4000 has been discontinued while there's no such mention on the -07. Geez. Todd
Are they both sold by the same vendor? Amazon has pretty good prices, but other vendors on Amazon.com are all over the place. Sometimes you just get a better deal on the better machine. I was kidding on the motor.
Yeah, thought you were fooling. As I mentioned earlier, two different vendors. Amazon for the 4000-07, somebody else to the 4000, don't recall who now.Todd
Amazon is like a whale full of Jonahs.Everytime im looking at tools with independent suppliers i immediately end up on amazon again. Mite as well just stay there.Waited 2 months for my senco compressor and pin nailer /combo and now they told me its not available? Funny the nailer is and the compressor is?!
there is a wide swing of pricing for that saw.. the model numbers on that saw are Bosch numbers...
sometimes you can get stuff thrown in to "sweeten" the deal...
but the base package does not change..
also look to see if you are getting a reconditioned saw or a new one... this makes a big difference...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Last night I was looking for a Bosch sander, 1295dvsk. Rechecked Amazon, $79.97 10% off special, but wait, 50 pack of sandpaper for 39.95 thrown in. Gave the 10% before deducting the 39.95 ($12 off). Net delivered 2nd day $69.97. Not recon. I got the free 90 day trial of Amazon Prime and so far I think I will pay the $ when the trial is over. Makes impulse buying easier.
CPO Bosch is Buy it now for 59.95+8.95 shipping for recon.
I believe I'm done with CPO............Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Todd,
It's the vendors. Happens all the time on Amazon. I was shopping for watches a couple weeks ago. I found a Seiko that I liked for about $250. That was a bit more than I wanted to spend so I continued to scroll through the watches. Found that exact same Seiko for $89. I couldn't believe it so I went back and found the first one again. Yup same watch. $89 from Amazon and $250 from a different vendor selling through Amazon. Weird.
The Christmas before past I found the 4000-09 on Amazon (with the folding stand) for 450.00, while the 4000 without a stand was $500! I figured it was a fluke, but struck while the iron was hot. Came with a $50 discount on top of that, and free shipping too, so I got the saw and stand for $400. Sure enough, by the next day they corrected the price on the 4000-09 to be higher than the 4000 by itself, but to their credit, they did honor my purchase.
As for the other sellers, they are allowed to set the price at whatever they want. Many choose a higher price, simply because they get it. People who are not computer-savvy often end up buying the first option they inadvertently click on. And some people will always go for the higher price, thinking they are getting "the best one". A $90 Seiko on a framing job? Man. I must be cheaper than I thought.I used to get $15 Casio's. Last a good time, who casre if they break, can keep time.I think now I would got to $20.
I had a Timex marathon for work that lasted for five years of daily framing. I'd replace the band every fall because it would start to get a little ripe from the summer and the Velcro would be wearing out. That's all it ever asked of me. So I figure I can justify a nicer piece this time around. ;)

Now you've got me all embarassed for having a Seiko. Here's a picture.... it's a pretty simple watch. Just right for a framer. ;)

Nice watch.
I had a Seiko watch last for 22 years, paid about $80 for it.
Wearing a timex now, but I'm gonna look at one like yours.

Where's Mickey?I just don't like the green band. I don't think it will go with my tool bags. Workplace fashion being what it is, you know.
Nice watch, I wore a Seiko diving watch for years, Loved it. There aint no shame in that one. Nice piece.
