To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

I like the Lutron electronic ones. Cant remember the model (I think it started with an m like majestic or somthing like that). There the ones with the touch panel with a manual override to set brightness.
Although in my opinion I have never actually used a dimmer on any setting other than on or off so I kind of think there a waste of money. I'm sure plenty of people utilise them but I dont.
Interesting -- My wife loves dimmers, we have them everywhere.

Dont get me wrong I like the way the Maestro switch "ramps up" to full power, i've just personally never used them anywhere in between on and off and we have at least 4 in our house.
Yeah, the Lutron Maestro. I initially thought the gradual-on effect was pretentious, but my dad points out it eases the filament into the high temperature the bulb normally runs at, so it extends bulb life.
I never use a dimmer if it's for one central light. I always use them if they control indirect or dramatic light.
My husband loves dimmers and has them everywhere. We use them.
Have Lutron "Skylarks" "Divas" and "Maestros". I like the Divas best - basically a rocker switch, with a small adjustment slider for the default 'on' position. Nice styling.
The Maestros are a bit showy. Guests giggle or say "what the heck, how do you use this", but we use them only in the TV-and-tech den, where showy works.
I like the Divas - kitchen, dining room, living room. Most of the time we use a moderate default setting and just the switch; but we have the option of blinding wattage, or dimming down to night-light effect. Both of which are very handy off of just the one switch plate.
I like these: http://www.pcslighting.com/UPBWallMount.htm
I can turn the lights on and off in the TV room with the same remote that controls the TV and the other consumer electronic components.
Yes, I am a lazy SOB sometimes.
