I was helping my buddy paint his new house and it was this new Benjamin Moore flat paint but what was unique was that it could be wiped with a wet cloth and the paint actually get’s clean.
From what he heard, if anyone can confirm is that Pratt and Lambert was bought out and their entire paint line has gone downhill.

Pratt & Lambert and Sherwinn Williams are now the same co. I haven't seen a decline in P&W's products. It is still awesome paint.
To be more exact, P&L and Mautz are both owned by Sherwin Williams. Last I talked to my Mautz rep, they are keeping the lines seperate.
As far as I can tell P&L was going downhill long before SW bought in.
Favorite brand of paint? Depends, what are you applying it to, what is the area your painting used for, and what are your expectations?

Sikkens. Unbelievably high quality products; incredibly long-lasting; but lousy customer service--maybe that's just here because of the distributor they use, which has its own 'competing' lines that aren't even close in quality. (If you ask the distributor for service on something they manufacture, they can't do enough for you. But if you ask about a Sikkens product, the answer is always, 'Duh, we don't know sh!t, we just da distributor, ya know?' And if you call Sikkens direct, they refer you straight back to the distributor.)

Valspar, sold by Lowes Great paint
Porter paint. Mainly because it's made here and I know it.
Who Dares Wins.
Vista Paints(SoCal) "Carefree" brand acrylic latex(water based). I finish walls with low luster or eggshell. Gives it a little sheen but this stuff is bullet proof. Cleans up with a wet cloth, even after 9 years. By the way, this stuff is interior/exterior. Exterior of the shop was painted with it and after 8 years the paint is still holding up. Lost some of the sheen though. I just repainted the exterior because the house is up for sale. Cost is about $20.00 per gal. give or take your volume discount. A friend who worked for DisneyLand turned me on to it about 13 years ago.
Yep thats what the wife cousin used for our kitchen and bath. Its good stuff but I still kinda like Evergard. They sell it at Smiths off Cherry Ave in LB or Orangethorpe in Fullerton.

Interior flat, eggshell...Sherwin William's - Pro-Mar 200.
Interior woodwork. Porter.
Exterior. Porter.
There is no such thing as expensive paint. Painters?, yes. Always use the best of both.
Walmart paint is the most expensive paint I (rather the wife) has ever used. $10 a gallon and needed 8 coats to start to cover!! And this was over paint of a simular color!!
Ben-moore is almost all we use. Sometimes SW. I never have liked P&L

Pittsburgh Paints is all that my Dad ever used,I still buy it my self..
Bennie Moore and Sherwin Williams for paint and Cabot for stain.
Cabot's is great stain. It's what is used on a lot of the factory prefinished stuff. I got some siding that must have been #5 pine (LOL) and I swear, the Cabots solid color stain was what held the wood fibres together. I was running 25% or so on waste. Second time I called for return and repalcement, the yard manager just told me to burn the bad stuff and tell him how much to discount, he didn't want it back in the yard..
