In the last year two significant negative events have happened in my business career, and neither one had anything to do with my business. I have relied on 3 sources for business information, the kind that cause you to think and stretch outside your cocoon type information. Inc. magazine, JLC magazine and the business forum here. Six months or so ago Inc. restructured the magazine for a whole new look and attitude. Part of that change apparently was to move to a higher level (financially) of business. We went from bootstrapping to starting out with 6 million and hurry up to go public. So be it, probably more money in it anyway.
Now this forum changes and we go from 10-12 new ideas a week to maybe 3. So two of my three sources are gone. Anybody got any others so I may re-expand. Looking for web sites or magazines that are basic business, small to medium owner operator stuff. Not to “out of the box” as I am somewhat conservative. Thanks DanT

Given some more time, I expect this forum will come back around.
Best of luck with your business......
I think that I will have to agree with the "Boss" on this one, in time, if we ask the right questions of each other, the proper information will be spread. Currently there are way to many complainers and not near enough good learning experiences going on. What line of work are you doing, and what help or ideas do you need? I do small repairs and maintenance work mostly on rentals managed by the biggest real estate company in town. Got real lucky at the start, and now am as busy as I want. Might look for other magazines, but I don't find much of interest. Guess we better start looking for that 6 mil so we can go public.

Dan, I have to agree, the pool of info isn't nearly as deep as it used to be here.
Do you visit the JLC Business strategy board?
I think the new forum actually prohibits discussion. Prospero only gives you whats recent in talks, not some of the older talks. Prospero is a system that promotes daily interaction, and its needed. If people cant visit here (prospero) 1-2x a day then franklydiscussions will vanish because you may or may not be able to see that thread 3 weeks ago without digging so deep its a pain.
Business forums are ongoing. and order to keep ti ongoing people need to see the threads. Because you may have not dealt with that situation last week, but you do today. Prospero pretty much kills that due to not seeing a long string of threads.
Bill, try using this as your bookmark:
http://forums.taunton.com/n/mb/list.asp?webtag=tp-breaktime&ctx=4096
Then all you get first is the log in window; then it shows this page with threads that were active for the last 3 weeks or so.
