I’m looking for an auto level to shoot levels with. I use a David White sight level and a ProShot laser as a landscape construction foreman. Neither are self leveling, but I’m not sure I could afford that anyway.
I would typically use the auto level to shoot levels for concrete forms, post cutting (in order to level all posts), and for drain line installation with a consistent slope, with the occasional indoor use. I’m leaning towards a sight level; I can always get someone to hold the rod if necessary. Any favorites out there? Thanks.

I use a Topcon rotary lazer for site work, but I'm not sure that's what you're after (about $1200 if I remember).
The RoboLaser is self-leveling and about $300 (ToolCrib). Friend of mine has one and is happy with it.
If having a stickman is not a problem, what's wrong with staying with the optical? I have an old K & E I use when I really want accuracy.
pretty good round-up of laser features in the current Walls & Ceilings.

I went to the local survey equipment supplyer and ask if he had any laser coming off lease that will be for sale. I got the complete outfit on a spefic precision laser for $400
That's an interesting option. What exactly did you get?
