I would like to get an awning over our front door, but don’t know what would work with our existing roof line. I’m attaching some samples. The door looks like it is right in the corner but there is about 2 inches between the door and right side. 1st picture is our front door. Thanks!

How much rain do you get?
Draw it out and see what you like.
Sorry for the small pic and thin line. But, I’m suggesting an awning following the roof line.
We're in northern California so mostly during the winter, get the setting sun baking the door during the summer. I like that idea of an awning going that way, thanks for the suggestion!
For shade, you might want to run it well out away from the house. The frame will take some thought. Rain dumping from above will add some quick weight load. Might have to come down to the slab with as thin a post as recommended by an awning company...
Thank you!
I'd just extend the little roof overhang on the right of the door out over the door. The little roof would no longer be symetrical but asymetry is often interesting as I think symetry is over rated.
I like your suggestion, mikemahan3, especially if the extension could extend over the door's side-lite.
Me too! Thanks for the suggestion!
