As always with these polls, a simple vote isn't enough. I love rich textiles, but not bedspreads because my husband can't stand to sleep under one and I'm not going to deal with taking it off and putting it back on every day. So I put wall hangings, but I like other ways to show off rich textiles. Yesterday I found a pair of throw pillow covers that I wove to match a rug- but the rug got damaged and we don't know if it's repairable, so I never stuffed the pillows. Gotta find a place for them. The wool I wove them from was pretty costly, so it qualifies as a splurge.
I can't even vote for those items! I think the biggest splurge I've ever made is my antique Limoges. Most of my furniture is inherited antiques. My artwork has all been gifts from friends and relatives who are artists, my rugs were purchased second hand (at her original cost, not including appreciation) from my mother when she downsized. My biggest splurge is really my yard - guess I'd better go back and hang out over the fence.Ellen
