Which is best way to flash old window frames for new insert windows?

Our 1920’s house has 1980s replacement windows, trim coil, and vinyl siding. We want to reside with LP lap engineered wood, finished by traditional casing and trim profiles. We’ll be adding new building wrap over the original sheathing but I’m not sure how to flash the house wrap into these old window frames (maybe I’m overthinking it?).
