We are about to the finishing stage on our house and are in the market for a trim nailer. Since we have the Paslode framing nailer and love it, Paslode is the first choice. It will get used to put 1×6 t&g on our ceiling and all the trim work and some cabinet/woodworking work. It looks like there are three choices; the straight Trimpulse, straight Trimmaster 18 guage and the Trimpulse 16 guage angled. The angled Trimmaster 16 guage sounds best to me. I like the idea of the depth of drive wheel adjustment. What say you all?

Jessie, you still have a roof to attach a ceiling to? :)
*Get the angled one.
*I have the straight trim gun....Its great...the angle gun is to aid in angle shots...I never have run into a need for that angle though...near the stream,aj
*Check out nail cost differential straight-to-angled--that'll help you make up your mind.I use the straight pretty much every day and love it. I only carry the compressor on the truck when I have a large framing job; I never use the pneumatic finish gun anymore.
*I've been using the trimpulse for about 5 years, and haven't ever felt like I needed the new angled one.
*Thanks much for the advice.Joe, I'm thinking that 1x6 t&g should help hold the roof together. The angled one has the wheel depth adjuster. That sounds nice after having to adjust the framer with a allen wrench.Acme Electric has a sale next weekend I'll look at all three of them. They are priced from 380 - 430. My dad will pay half, but it sounds like maybe I won't share!!! :)
*My straight gun has a wheel to adjust depth too....near the stream,aj
*Thanks, AJ Didn't know that. I must go look at them.
*I'm a part timer doing mostly trim and looking at the paslode. From what I hear you all say it sounds like it will work O.K. Am I right.
*Do you guys who use the trimpulse every day spend much time cleaning and maintaining them?
*I use my 16 ga. straight gun every day and spend almost no time on maintenance, excepting occasional oiling, cleaning the filter on top, and lubricating the depth control nut from time to time. The straight gun nails are cheaper than the angled, and I find no reason to go with angled anyway.Don't get too carried away with "dials" and other bells and whistles--K.I.S.S. works every time!!!!!
*Allen, Ihave been using the angled trimpulse for eight months. I have cleaned it twice.
