I am looking at either a Hitachi C10FSH dual bevel 10″ sliding compound miter saw or a Bosch 4412 12″ model. Any suggestion about either of these models or any others?

When I was checking them out a few years ago, the Bosch detents didn't seem very crisp. Maybe they've improved that.
My Makita has been reliable, accurate and tough. I've not used a 12" Hitachi, but their other saws are good.
Hehe,
you said Bosch 4412, very sweet!
Cheapest that I have seen them is via Tyler Tool for $675 shipped.
Happy choppin'
Is that the new 12" slider that tilts both ways?
I really like my Dewalt 12" Slider. However, It is the only one I've used. I considered the Hitachi , but didn't think the extra money was warranted for my needs.
Yes

I'm looking for the duel compound that tilts both ways.
Listen closely..BOSCH
??????are u really bored or didn't understand my comment to BYU grad ?
I'm looking for the duel compound that tilts both ways.
Hair of the dog maybe .... but not bored.
Now listen a little closer.... BOSCH model #4412 to be specific.
Right #4412........for some reason the first time I clicked on that link it showed the single bevel 3915.
Okay.... But I still have a bad case of the hair of the dog. LOL
It's all right. Between the two of us, we'll get through to ya somehow. I kinda like Rugbys musical version of this, the Bosch train. We need your help coming up with the dance for it though. Shawn, get the Hitachi C10FSH. Got one a month ago for $499 @ Lowes. I'm building an arbor, requiring a lot of neat cuts which I was doing on my table saw. After almost cutting off a digit with the miter gauge, I ran out and purchased the Hitachi w/laser. Hey, the laser is no joke - after easily adjusting to your preference (left/right blade), it's dead-on accurate. The soft-start is a plus and, I can lift the damn thing! After one month using this saw, I'd pay $700 for it.
Good luck
Depends on what you are using the saw for. If you are doing trim work , I would consider only the Milwaukee and the Makita. The Milwaukee is the most accurate, Makita slides easiest. I prefer the Milwaukee for several reasons. You can lock the swing at any point without jumping into the detent, important when fudging a cut say a quarter degree or so. The bevel and swing scales are large, easy to see without bending over the motor. You can lock the bevel 3 degrees past zero or up to 48 degrees. Swing goes to 59 degrees to the right and if I remember correctly 51 degrees to the left, Fence is large and flips from regular cutting to bevel in one or two seconds. The Makita is a fine saw too, harder to see the scales than Milwaukee.
I believe I have used every saw made to date except the Dewalt slider. Most of the sliders are fine for the average person. I do not care for saws with small fences like the Hitachi, good saw otherwise. I used the Bosch for a couple of weeks, okay saw, nothing great. In my opinion the PC,Delta, Bosch are about the same.Stay away from Freud and Ryobi. The Ryobi is underpowered, the Freud slidesaw is a piece of junk.Freud makes good tooling, blades, router bits etc, not power tools.
Mike
I've had Makitas and Hitachis. I've used a 12" Dewalt for the last four years and have only minor complaints. I use it 2-3 days a week and its still as true as the day I got it. I may be the exception to the rule. BTW, mine is a reconditioned.
Between your two choices, the Bosch is the cats meow. I've used DW, Delta, Mil, PC, Hitachi, Makita, and the Bosch. The Bosch takes all. The Makita 10" is a helluva good saw too if you dont mind the short fence. Hitachi wins if you just want sheer size - go get the 15". I was a convert to the Bosch and spent a lot of time doing just what you are, trying to make sure once the dough was gone I'd be happy, and I am. I'm making converts all the time. It's like my own little cult now :-) Look for the bargains. I got mine for $649. Only thing I'd change, which I'd probably change regardless of what saw I got is the blade. The blade that comes with it is fine, and better than what you get shipped with most saws, but I can't stand a thin kerf on a 12" saw. Too much opportunity for vibration, and all you need is that chunk of trim flying off the saw and through a window once it gets snagged.

How do you like the positive stops for the degree settings? Accurate? How bout the tall fence, how's that working?
I'm happy with just about everything. The positive stops included. The preset crown settings are dead on as well. The fence is a two part adjustable deal so you can back it out of the way for compound cuts. Works fine. The clamp is probably the best surprise. I'm so used to those piddly little things that just barely hold things. This one actually does its job. Having the compound lock up front is just frosting on the cake. Looks like you can live with your decision.
Oh yeah. No doubt at all. It's still a love affair to some extent. Hey folks, news flash. IMERC is something of a Bosch fan, (now theres an understatement!) and somewhat influential in my decision to get the slider. BTW, seeing pictures of Katz with the thing didn't hurt any either. Now we'll get Rugby on board this train too.

Geez RW, no wonder my ears were burning. : )
OK, anybody want to buy a used DeWalt 12" slider, just tuned her up 2 days ago, comes with 2 DW Series 40 blades (60 & 80 tooth). $500.00.....o.b.o. considered. Or maybe the Bosch dealer would give me a good trade in. Keep pestering me and I might just turn blue.
People all over the world.......Join hands.........Get on the Bosch Train........Bosch Train.
How long has that saw been out? My Makita is gettin old and I'll never have another saw with those wimpy stubby fences.
I dunno for sure. A couple of years I think. Early reviews I read hinted at some of the things said here, like detents not so good. If that were true, they've since addressed the issues, it seems. Now we'll get you on board too. I wonder if we can get a free Bosch Tshirt out of this?"The child is grown / The dream is gone / And I have become / Comfortably numb " lyrics by Roger Waters
Talk about coincidence, I just posted a message on Knots, complaining about my Milwaukee. It's been to the Milwaukee service center in Milwaukee twice for being out of square and they've returned it saying it meets all specs. I've sent it via my local dealer so this time we played with it, adjusting fences to get it right. When the left fence was set its limits to get it almost square, the right fence couldn't be adjusted to be co-planor (right term?). My guess is that something underneath having to do with the detent mechanism is out of whack. If it comes back bad again it gets scrapped for a Makita or Hitachi.
An comments?
Flip the saw over. The detent is adjustable. At some point the saw dropped or banged hard.
I am with Mike K. My Milwaukee is a sweet piece of equipment that has proven extremly dependable for almost 3 years of heavy use. If I have to replace it, I would pay suggested retail before I would by any other. No, I don't have family or friends at Milwaukee but most of my small equipment is RED! Farm stuff is only Green!
