We’re trying to select a whirlpool tub for our new master bath. I’ve done some research, but one can only learn so much from catalogs, web sites, and showrooms. I would like to get some opinions based on personal experience. Any feedback, positive or negative, regarding brand names, features, etc., would be appreciated.

Great Lakes Plastics makes whirlpool baths as well as other bath and shower modules. They market under the name Warm Rain. Their products are excellent and not unusually expensive. Their factory is located in Hancock, MI, up in the northern tip of the UP. They don't sell direct, but can point you to a wholesaler.
