white cedar shingle siding: over zip board OK? and squares / man day?

I’m installing white cedar shingles R & R on my garage, siding with woven corners, 5″ exposure. Is it ok to install directly over Zip-board? Also what is a reasonable estimate of squares per man day to expect: most of it requires little scaffolding, and I can supply a nail gun?
Thank you

I assume
you mean ZipWall sheathing...?
Did you tape all the joints per the manufacturers instructions? How are you flashing window and door openings?
I would use felt and Obdyke HomeSlicker over the wall, I would not nail them right to the sheathing. I would expect not more than 1 square per man per day, on average.
I did mean ZipWall and
I am taping joints and flashing like I should. I don't want to pay for the HomeSlicker, it is a garage/workshop. So you think I still need 30# felt?
Thanks for your reply

The issue
with nailing shingles to the Zip is whether or not the shingles can dry to the back if they need to. It is less permeable than CDX ply and standard OSB. I have not used it and probably won't, I use CDX and felt for wall. I am routinely installing all siding over Homeslicker or furring at this point, because I think it makes for a much better wall system, allowing the wall to dry more easily if it needs to, and to keep the back of the siding drier than it otherwise might be. That said, shingles are highly breathable. Everyone's gotta decide for themselves how much these things matter to them, and how to apply them to their own work.
FWIW I get tech info on red cedar shingles from the Cedar Bureau. I don't know if they cover white cedar as well, might be worth a look at their site. They have answered questions for me free on their 1-800 number.
