Whole house ventilation system design help,
Hello all,
I plan on upgrading my house’s ventilation system and need your help. It is a 2,240 sqft 3 story single family home built in 1995 located in MI. I have a fully finished basement and 2+ bathrooms.
I created a ventilation system design that you can see below. I outlined two systems; an on-demand system that would run only when it is needed, and an integrated system that would work with the main duct system to dilute the stale air inside the house.
To recover the maximum amount of heat, I plan on using 3 HRVs as I outlined in the design. Also, I plan on having the pressure inside the home balanced at all times. To achieve that I will need a complex control system that would work together centrally and balance the air coming in and going out of the home.
Which system would you recommend? Is there a solution out there that would fit my needs? Is this an overkill overall for a ventilation system?
I would love to hear any feedback on the system design as well. Thanks!

I suspect there are other sources.
You may want to verify proper installation of the furnace air return taps.
You can also integrate sensors to have the system adjust for clothes dryer and cooking fans in the kitchen.
Of course, make sure you seal and insulate all the air handling pipes and equipment in the attic.
