Who the fuck gives a shit anymore here! The Mollum is NOT working, except to keep people from using this forum!
Dan’s had a thread running for ages asking politiely and is ignored.
I try to help somebody with a question and I have hit the damn thing 14 times to get my friggin reply registered!
If it takes carpet bombing to get somebody to pay attention, I am ready and willing. There are capapble professionals avoiding this site because Taunton will not maintain it and take care of minor things like this idiotic Mollum that does not work right!

There are not capable professionals avoiding this site, they left it a while ago. Until it looks like BTC, none of them will return. It's simple as that.

At least two have told me that damn molum and the ignorance by the management is the reason they avoiud the site. It pisses us off every time you want to answert a Q and help someone (that IS the reason for a forum like this, isn't it?) you have to jump past a mollum anywheres from one time to half a dozen times to get a single reply posted. Most just say it ain't fkn worth the trouble. Fourteen dang times has me pissed of to high heaven.
They gave up on this place way b/4 mollom.
Until they change it, might as well take a break if it aggravates you this much. I'll keep poke'n them and maybe someday they'll do away with mollom and introduce a few...................

Ten years have passed but I want to add, I need help from people like you. I have scoured the internet for concise and understandable teachings for a novice like me but have found none that seem to compare in the professional thorough discussions on this site. A 'guy like me' is just a rapidly aging post baby boomer who (unwittingly) bought a house with framing problems and who hired a structural engineer who doesn't really know any more than I already know, and most defining - a guy with virtually no money. I did notice all the forum posts are really old but I thought it was because of the topic - fixing crawl space moisture damage and prior incorrect framing elsewhere. I could use the help, especially from Piffin, whose name and practices I have seen referenced by others in several discussions. My email address is [email protected]. It's that THING you have to fill out with about six characters when you make a post. It is supposedly there to make sure that you are a real person and not a bot posting spam here.
But sometimes it does not come up at all, sometimes you have to fill it out 5-6 times, or twice or, for me recently fourteen times!!!!!
Why should we be subjected to crap like that in porder to help people out with their questons? It should be fixed, or members who are of long standing should be given a by=pass around it when they log in
