Have tripped lots of breakers, first time I’ve seen one tripped from falling tree limb hitting a structure.
High winds here today, 10 inch dia cottonwood limb hit pump house (only bounced off heavy structure – 4 by 12 only 6 ft long on that side of the small pump house) but shook/elastically deformed entire structure enough that it opened the door. No water pressure when got home, circuit breaker in pump house was tripped (1/2 only of 2 pole breaker, another surprise, no shorts, etc.) Only thing can figure was the mechanical shock tripped it – also, the incandescent light bulbs were all ‘burnt out’, shock must have broken the filaments also. Up and running again, only need to replace a couple shingles – and cut up all the downed tree limbs.
