I'm not a lawyer or an accountant, but I think you'd want to get a new EIN. Otherwise, you'll be using your 'old' company to pay your employees and yourself, while using your new company to contract for the work. Doesn't sound right. You can get an EIN online and you can probably cancel your old one by downloading a form from the IRS site, filling it out, and mailing it in.
If you are just changing the name then no, but you probably have to notify them.
But if you are changing legal entities then it is a must.
